This Privacy Policy explains how the KR Connect mobile application ("the App"), published by M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering (MKCE) ("we", "us"), handles information when you use it. The App provides mobile access to the KR Connect student and staff portal at https://mkce.krconnect.in.
The App is a secure wrapper around our existing web portal. Account and academic information (such as your name, roll number or staff ID, attendance, marks, and other records) is handled by the KR Connect portal itself when you sign in — the App does not create a separate copy of that data.
When you tap an upload field that accepts images, the App can open your camera so you can capture a photo to upload. Photos are used only for that upload and are not accessed at any other time. The App uses your device's system camera and does not request a standing camera permission.
If a portal feature requests your location, the App will ask your permission first. Location is used only by that feature and is not tracked in the background. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
The App may send push notifications for portal updates (for example, new announcements). We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver these. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
The App may display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Connections between the App and our portal use HTTPS encryption. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
The App is intended for students and staff of the institution and is not directed at children under 13.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us using the details below. Some records may be retained where the institution is required to keep them.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
